a life in music

Jimmy Stanley has enjoyed a fascinating career, see his journey through music below!

JIMMY’S EARLY YEARS & BREAKTHROUGH…

For Jimmy, growing up in the 60s, 70s & 80s, this was a really special time for music. Having been brought up in a music-loving family, it was only natural that it rubbed off on him. He was always entertaining and wanted a life in showbiz or the music industry.

Jimmy first started performing and singing at the age of 3 when he entertained the customers of cafes by standing close to the cafe Juke Box for hours when people were choosing their favourite records of the day, and singing along with them. He soon gained a lot of attention and large crowds would gather. Later, this became a fixture of his school education in music too when large crowds of kids would gather in the schoolyard to hear him sing their requests of the hits of the day as he imitated the voices on the recordings they heard.

After learning how to play guitar and piano by listening to records, a series of school bands and solo ventures, he later auditioned in the 90s for the then highly popular ‘Stars In Their Eyes’ TV series which was featured on a Saturday night. He was highly delighted to be chosen from over 80k applicants for the show to perform as Robin Gibb of Bee Gees fame singing the classic 60s No.1 ‘Massachusetts’. When televised, it was estimated Jimmy’s episode, which was the first in the new series at the time,  was viewed by over 18k music fans.

…TO A STORIED & FASCINATING CAREER!

From that career-boosting opportunity, Jimmy formed the Bee Gees tribute band ‘Stayin’ Alive UK’ at the encouragement of TV host Matthew Kelly.

So after many selective auditions, the band was formed and through Jimmy’s musical prowess in vocal coaching and in picking out the unique harmonies of the original Bee Gees, has now become one of the UK’s most successful tribute bands having won many accolades including the UK Tribute Award and ranked as one of the top 6 tribute bands in the country after being selected for the TV pilot of ‘BBC1’s ‘Battle Of The Fantasy Bands’ with hosts Ulrika Jonnson & Terry Wogan. Channel 5’s ‘Night Fever’ music programme which was hosted by ‘Suggs’ of Madness and consisted of competing boy/girl teams performing their favourite songs also featured Jimmy and the guys no less than 3 times, making them the only tribute act called back for two more encores.

Jimmy’s many varied talents in music extend to his love and admiration of The Beatles music too. When he’s not performing as a Bee Gees look/soundalike, he performs as his idol ‘Sir Paul McCartney’ in his highly popular solo venture ‘ALL McCARTNEY’ both as a lookalike and soundalike performing all the instruments of Paul too.

Why not check out his dates to see if Jimmy and friends are around your way and be prepared for a great evening of entertainment with some of those wonderful 60s, 70s & 80s classic favourites!  AH-AH-AH-AH-STAYIN’ ALIVE or ‘ SHE LOVES YOU, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!
